LCD Soundsystem/Sleigh Bells
at Hard Rock Live

Tuesday, October 5th

James Murphy is the ultimate genre-bender. LCD Soundsystem has been multifariously pegged as acid house, dance rock, post punk, garage rock, pop and disco. With all these tags, it's difficult to see that LCD Soundsystem is only one guy. Murphy's third record, This Is Happening, has received plenty of positive reviews for its appeal to the adult music enthusiasts. If Murphy's cocktail seems too bland for some, keep in mind that noise blasters, Sleigh Bells, opens up the night.

Matt Pond PA
at New World Brewery

Wednesday, October 7th

Indie darlings Matt Pond PA will once again play an always memorable set on the patio of NWB this week. The band's latest record, The Dark Leaves, is short and sweet with 10 tracks and just about 40 minutes of play time but nothing is left to be desired as the usual moody and emotive offerings fill up the album. Be forewarned, this may be more sombre and withdrawn than most MPA efforts but without a doubt, just as lovely.

The songs on this record are nothing but beautiful and to see them live at this time may be a life event. Multi-instrumentalist, Owen Pallett will open.

Bob Dylan
at USF Sun Dome

Thursday, October 7th

Perhaps the biggest icon that will ever walk the USF campus, Bob Dylan will be taking his 5 decades of folk rock and blues to the Sundome. Dylan's neverending tour has been ongoing since the late 80s. Shows have been unpredictable with praise and reproof but one thing remains constant, the man is a legend and to see him even once would be a moment you won't forget. Who cares what's been released as of late. The old stuff is what you really want to hear. Be prepared to be sitting next to your professors. Yeah, they're not always lame.
