Kelley Stoltz - “My Love” While Kelley Stoltz’s nigh-religious reverence for all things Beatles, Beach Boys and Kinks has been at the fore on recent albums Below the Branches and Circular Sounds, his new album, To Dreamers, blends a bit more post-punk abandon into its layered everyman pop. Tasteful horn adornments blow against tom-tom beats and 12-string guitars meet reverbed mellotrons, under Stoltz’s warm vocals. More from Sub Pop Records |

Coming out of the gate in the early part of this decade as an all-things-not-Panthers outlet for Kip Uhlhorn, that band’s guitarist (and former guitarist/vocalist for those legends of deregulated late-90’s hardcore, Red Scare), for swapping musical ideas with a German named Simon Wojan, Cloudland Canyon spent several years immersed in an enigmatic interpretation of the many things these two minds found fascinating, including but not limited to the more structurally-challenged examples of OG Krautrock, 70’s psych of the drone-discovering variety, spots of unnerving improv here and there, and the wonderful 90’s bands that started out as head-scratchers and ended up as innovators. Glasser - “Home” Glasser is the one-woman orchestra of Cameron Mesirow. Her debut album, Ring, is a singular work. It moves like the wake of a small boat in a still lake: each song its own, but leading to, and becoming, the next. In doing so it builds on the tradition of classic albums like Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks, Joni Mitchell’s Blue, and R. Kelly’s Trapped In the Closet song-cycle: albums that as a whole create stories that are bigger than the sum of their individual songs. More from True Panther Sounds |

Ireland-based duo Low Sea combine warped seasick-shoegaze, nostalgic pop melody and fuzzed-out dreampop, all cemented on a solid krautrock platform. With sounds that reference everything from Suicide to Spacemen 3, A.R.Kane to Mazzy Star, Giorgio Moroder to The Big Pink, Low Sea’s songs are a hazy journey between looming shadows and bleached-out light More from Lefse Records |

French Horn Rebellion - “Brasilia Girl” MAN! The last time these I saw these guys perform live they got into a nose to nose argument with their sound guy, and then band they were touring with, Tigercity, got into a fight with the venue's bartender. Pretty hardcore for a bunch of kids making party vibes! Just like that one time, they're bringing down the house with these dancefloor jams and all indications look like they're gonna keep pushing that club sound and force the return of JNCO jeans.
