Art rock, no wave, noise rock, experimental and psychedelic can all be used to describe the New York rock band, Sonic Youth. Thurston Moore, Kim Gordon, Lee Renaldo and Steve Shelley have been together for decades and the band constantly pushes their instruments to the extreme using drills, screwdrivers, bows and pipes to get that signature sound on their detuned guitars. With just about 30 years in scene and a discography that includes a slew of renowned albums, Sonic Youth has become an iconic band whose sound will be remembered for its unique approach to rock music.
