Jam bands are an acquired taste much like a bitter IPA. Oddly enough, the patrons that seek out the "bands that jam" often pull back bitter microbrews like it's nobody's business. The Wood Brothers are Chris and Oliver, originally from Boulder, Colorado. When Oliver moved to Atlanta to develop his taste for blues and southern soul, Chris headed to New York City to play jazz and rock and roll. Chris eventually became one-third of the famous Medeski, Martin and Wood. Now, the two have joined forces and the Wood Brothers have found a happy medium with their own Americana roots music with touches of blues, folk and rock. Check out the pair this Wednesday at The Orpheum.
