From their website: "For years, while running their award-winning and very popular Central Avenue restaurant, Zack and Jennifer Gross dreamed of opening a larger, hip and vibrant space downtown where they could flex their creative and culinary muscles.

That dream became reality in November 2008 when the new Z Grille opened its doors for the first time.

The new restaurant at the foot of the Signature Tower, created with critically acclaimed local design firm Mesh, incorporates elements from Zack's southern California skater background while retaining just enough refinement to match the sophisticated, yet playful dishes coming out of the kitchen.

Built upon a foundation of glass, concrete and stainless steel, Z Grille features outdoor tables under the palms, a beautiful dining room located within a bamboo half pipe, artwork from tattoo legend Evil Don - including a spectacular backlit piece incorporating elements from Zack and Jenny's own tattoos - and a wraparound bar made from orange skateboard resin complete with a grind rail footrest.

The bar is the heart of Z Grille, serving rounds of delicious, intoxicating drinks, craft beers and great wines, offering both mid-day and late-night food and drink specials and plenty of good music (plus the occasional live band). It has quickly become the place to be in St Pete.

The star of the show, however, is the food. The critics agree, naming Z Grille Best New Restaurant just months after opening and nominating Zack Gross for the prestigious James Beard Award.
