Kick Over The Traces is Pinhead Gunpowder’s “greatest hits” compilation that gives fans 23 tracks of pure '90s California pop-punk. None of that “21 Guns” wussiness here. Billie Joe Armstrong and the gang give you the three-chord punk you love with the longest song running just under three minutes. The only exception comes at the end with the acoustic “On The Ave.” But, the lack of electricity is more that made up for with lyrics about getting all bloody climbing a fence into a blind-deaf school and waking up in a room that’s on fire.
