If you are a newcomer then you’ve been missing out… For a year or two, Hunx And His Punx? (aka Seth Bogart and friends) almost seasonally released another brilliant power punk single. True Panther Records collected these singles and recently pressed for a second time on vinyl Gay Singles, an album that one could not consider new, yet still a contender for one of the best records of last year.

REAX: Are you writing and recording right now?
HUNX AND HIS PUNX: I’m writing two records. We’re not going to record them until we get back from Europe.

REAX: Are they full albums or are they singles?
HUNX: Full albums. One is like a dance album and the other is punk rock, kind of like the old stuff.

REAX: What’s the dance album going to be like?
HUNX: Super gay, like the gayest record ever.

REAX: What would you say is the gayest record ever that you have to top?
HUNX: Probably The Night at the Roxbury Soundtrack.

REAX: Is the punk rock record going to be in the similar to what you’ve been doing?
HUNX: I’ve been rehearsing with my new band, which is all girls. A lot more female vocals singing, compared to the old one.

REAX: A lot of your singles go for some dough on the internet. Are you surprised by that?
HUNX: I was really surprised by that actually.

REAX: Do you have any extra ones that you sold so you could make more profit?
HUNX: I didn’t really think about it at the time.

REAX: Are you going to be making more singles?
HUNX: We’re planning on one now called “The Curse of Being Young.”

REAX: How autobiographical are the lyrics?
HUNX: They’re very autobiographical.

REAX: The lyrics, I noticed, there’s never really a sad ending to the relationship, there’s always somebody else new out there, is that sort of optimism also something you share in your life?
HUNX: Yeah I do. Some of the new songs are actually a lot sadder.

REAX: I read an article where you made out with a bunch of people in the front row of the audience and you got strep-throat.
HUNX: Oh my god I did.

REAX: Do you think you’ve learned your lesson?
HUNX: I don’t think I’ve learned my lesson.

REAX: Is there a chance for a Hunx And His Punx? dvd?
HUNX: Yes it’s going to happen. But not for a while. We have to make more videos. I’m actually working on a television show this summer. We’re going to release a dvd of that.

REAX: What’s the television show going to be like?
HUNX: It’s going to be called Hollywood Nails and be like Pee Wee’s Playhouse meets Saturday Night Live meets a talk show.

REAX: Are you doing the music for it?
HUNX: I’m the host. It’s going to be good.
