They came from different bands and from different coasts but now residing in Gainesville, Young Livers have acclimated themselves to the Florida heat and their new label, No Idea. Formed with current members of Glass and Ashes, Young Livers are thriving in the punk rock capital and anticipate the release of their sophomore record, Of Misery And Toil, due out next month on the popular Gainesville label. The album will add to a discography that includes a couple of split 7 inches and a well-received debut, "The New Drop Era". Drawing comparisons from bands such as Hot Water Music, Small Brown Bike as well as Glass and Ashes, Young Livers continues in similar style with the raw, garage-punk sound but adds their own taste for the attenuated guitars with gritty distortion played by Dave Hall and Matt Farrell and the fervent drumming of Chris Jordan. Hall, Farrell and bassist Mike Carter, supply the range of howling vocals and when complimented with the music, offers a darker tone and mood than other groups they've been linked to. Young Livers plays a few Florida shows before heading abroad to promote their new LP.
