I always find the story behind Ben Kweller much more intersting than his music.  Not that I find his music offensive but a jew living in Austin, winning honorable mention in a Billboad Magazine song writing contest at age nine gives us fellow members of the tribe hope.  Not since David Lee Roth has the chosen people gotten proper representation in the rock world.
