The Futureheads Black Cab It For New Album

Posted Monday, May 12th 2008 by Michael Rabinowitz

Having just interviewed The Futureheads front man Barry Hyde, it was a pleasure to run across this clip of him performing the "Radio Heart" off the group's new LP, This Is Not For The World, due May 27 on their own label, Nul Records.

Hyde was a great interview, being completely energized in releasing his own material after getting dropped by Warner Bros.  This energy is reflected in the new album, which I cannot stop listening to.  His performance in the clip below, and his demeanor during the interview, reminded me of Joe Strummer and another popular UK punk based act, whom, by the way. . . WMNF is honoring them this May 31 at Skipper's Smokehouse.  Check out that show.  It looks to be a great local Tampa Bay lineup.

I hope you enjoy this Black Cab Sessions clip and keep a look out for issue #25 with my interview with Barry.
