It is usually ok to rip of the Beatles because history has now proven that the Beatles did indeed rip everyone else off, sometimes note for note. Gary Reynolds is a veteran musician and producer, and channels the late Lennon's vocals to great effect. What is missing here is the adventurous abandon  and spontaneity in song writing that Macca and John had. With songs that become power pop in essence as the record progresses, you may find yourself wishing that Reynolds vocals didn't remind you so much of a watermark in music that again cannot be repeated, and this is the problem of channeling any legendary band, even unintentionally. No matter how great the songs are, it is difficult if you are measured up to giants.
