Lists always help me make decisions, so here’s one for Canadian Jason Collett’s album Here’s To Being Here:
Pros:
1.  On Arts & Crafts imprint, thus label mates with Stars, thus intriguing
2.  Howie Beck has production credits
3.  Clean, multi-instrumental, well thought out sound
Cons:
1.  Played out Dylan-esque vocal slides and drunken annunciation
2.  Trite lyrics (ex: “hopeless and romantic, drunk on the blood of love” )
3.  Adjectives (listed as "moods") used to describe him on allmusic.com: earthy, wistful, freewheeling, autumnal. Ehh...not so much.

Yes, he earned his stripes in indie favorites Broken Social Scene. But with all of the singer-songwriters out there (Alexi Murdoch, Denison Witmer, Ron Sexsmith, Michael Penn, Ray LaMontagne, Mark Kozelek, etc) he might want to… well, I don’t know exactly. It’s not a bad album, it just doesn’t stand out. Hey, Canada has a smaller market – so maybe he’ll get a Juno Award or something? – Susie Ulrey
