What Made Milwaukee Famous
What Doesnt Kill Us
2008 » Barsuk Records
What Made Milwaukee Famous demonstrates the tremendous strides they have taken as musicians, with their sophomore debut, What Doesn’t Kill Us. Their once cheerful, bubblegum songs are a bit deeper and complex this time around. The album’s powerful preface, "Blood, Sweat, and Fears", unveils drummer Jeremy Bruch, and his strong, hypnotic beats. The voice of frontman Michael Kingcaid follows his tempo all the way through the entirety of the record - up and down, with his rising rhythm. This is all complemented by a mastermind behind the keys, Drew Patrizi, and several extremely contagious guitar riffs. Ballad after ballad, with the occasional feel-good pop song (you just can’t leave them out completely), this album is as good as it is solid. – Ashley Marie Sansotta
